SIDESWIPE takes the form of a sleek, vision concept dreamed up by the Corvette designers at GM. The design is influenced by the original Stingray race car, introduced in 1959, but also draws on Corvette heritage cues from other generations. It brings them together in a futuristic shape that seems to be equal parts racecar and space ship.
“SIDESWIPE represents an exercise in exploration for the Corvette,” said Ed Welburn, vice president of GM Global Design. “By giving my creative team the freedom to design no-holds-barred vision concepts, it helps them push boundaries and look at projects from different perspectives.”

Very nice lines. I would give my left nut to just sit in it. What is the cost going to be? What is the horse power and tourqe? What is the options? What is the interior like and lastly when can I buy one? I love it!!! But my favorite will allways be the 1963 model with the split window. This one is still nice.

Love the style! Head lights are a great improvement over the C6′s by far!!! I also would like to see the interior. G.M. take a hint on styling!!!
The “Sting Ray” is going to be priced around $46-52 large. There is a lot of talk about what kind of engine is going to go in it. The idea was to bring it to life with a supercharged LS3 engine. But there’s talk about using the LS9. (Then your looking at price tag of around $60-$70k). That’s just for the concept.
As far as production goes. Their thinking of coming up with whole new Hybrid based engine design. Honestly, I hope they scrap that idea.
Personally, I would like to order one without an engine. I plan on dropping one of the new (454 LSX series) engines in it. And if I’m not going through enough tires, I’ll probably supercharger it.

I think they’re on to something. Needs more work however. Love the split window and part of the rear styling. Love most of the front end but the scoops that flank the grill are to pronounced. I say, maybe to much going on for my eyes. Sometimes less cheese is better. I’ve had 3 ‘vettes over the years. Not really looking for the batman mobile, just another hot corvette!

This car is absolutely the most amazing car every designed and hopefully produced! Looking at how they are going to put a hybrid ls3 v-8 with the option of cylinder deactivation, how can you not put this car as the top American sports car?! They compare Corvettes to Mustangs all the time and seeing this, Ford doesn’t stand a chance against this thing. Its sleek so drag is greatly reduced and is probably the lightest car that can reach up to 250 MPH. This car should be worshiped, Period!
